Latin American Masters announces “Mexican Modernism”. The exhibit includes paintings and original works on paper by Diego Rivera, Rufino Tamayo, Francisco Toledo, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Gunther Gerzso and Carlos Merida.

Among the show’s highlights are David Alfaro Siqueiros’s painting "Los Compadres," painted while he was incarcerated for his political activism in Mexico’s Federal Penitentiary, Diego Rivera’s oil painting "Los Braceros," included in Germany’s 1988 landmark exhibition, "The Image of Mexico" (Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt), Rufino Tamayo’s monumental 1976 canvas "Niño en Rojo," and Francisco Toledo’s "Murcielagos Mirones" (painted during his 2002 stay in Los Angeles).
