Women Painters West presents: "FALL PALETTE"

WPW has a strong standing in the art scene here in LA , states recent juror, Scott Canty, and, a long tradition of quality and established artists. Their exhibitions continue to be of the highest caliber largely because of the juried selection process. The juror list includes other notables such as Renee Amitai, Molly Barnes, Joni Gordon, Don Lagerberg, Louise Lewis, Barbara Gilbert, and Lydia Takeshita. Reviews and juror comments have described WPW shows as. . .reflective, poetic, elegant. . .with aspects of color abstraction, minimalism, expressionism, modernism, and cubism. . .connecting cultures across the millennia. . .observations which truly reflect the diversity, depth, versatility, and creativity of the WPW artists and their artwork.
WPW, founded in Laguna Beach (1921), has over 200 professional women artists. Many are award winning, recognized and honored nationally and internationally. Monthly meetings feature outstanding guest speakers. Renowned artist, Lita Albuquerque, spoke in January, and multi-award winning performance/installation artist and filmmaker Eleanor Antin is scheduled for March 2004. In addition, WPW provides annual scholarships to emerging artists and offers philanthropic aid to the community. Membership is by application only, once a year (April 2004).
