More than 40 hand-woven Mexican textiles--some never before shown outside of Mexico--are presented in

THE UNBROKEN THREAD: CONSERVING THE TEXTILE TRADITIONS OF OAXACA

The exhibition and accompanying publication detail a joint project o the Getty Conservation Institute and Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) Regional Museum of Oaxaca. Curators and conservators collaborated with present-day weavers to preserve the Regional Museum's important collection of textiles representing the area's indigenous cultures. Curated by Kathryn Klein, the exhibition will be on view through February 1, 1998.
