Alyson Souza was born in Bridgeport Connecticut in 1968. Growing up with a father who was an artist greatly influenced her as she focused inward on making art herself at a very young age. She received a scholarship to Cooper Union for the advancement of Science and Art in New York City, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1990. Alysons' work appeared in group shows at the Houghton Gallery as well as the Ridge Street Gallery, both in New York. In 1993, she began to work in wood, constructing intricate three - dimensional oil paintings. She did so in New York until 1997. She then moved to Los Angeles, where her work most recently appeared in an episode of the X - Files. She continues to live and make art in Los Angeles.
