Roberta Carasso, brought up in Brooklyn, was influenced by constant visits to the Brooklyn Museum, and the studio courses taken at Brooklyn College with Mark Rothko, Ad Reinhardt and later with Hans Hofmann and Estaban Vicente. Prolific for a time in sculpture, painting, music, and literature, once married Carasso moved to Los Angeles. She wrote her first reviews after being prompted by a friend. Her writing has been shaped by life experiences that have kept art thrilling in both the seeing and creating.

Twenty-five years of publication means that we have a history to draw on, and relationships with you, our readers to maintain. But it also means that we must continue to look beyond the horizon, to find new ways to allow this vehicle to illuminate the public options for visual art.
