"Made in California:" Not Our California
|
This massive exhibition seeks to provide a fresh model for viewing the development of California art in its historical and cultural context during the 20th Century. Unfortunately, the shifting emphasis and physical layout of the exhibition marginalizes the art of the first half of the century as well as the contributions of minority ethnicities. Intentionally or not, the result is neither enlightening nor convincing.
