Mauricio Espinosa, “half awake and half asleep as a place for activity (UNFAMILIAR FACES)” 2008, Aluminum foil, hydraulic hometic waterfall, modified door, wood, paint.

UCR MFA 2008 represents the second graduating class from the recently established Master of Fine Arts program in UCR’s Department of Art. They will join a select company of graduates from art departments and private art schools in Southern California, a region that has become known for transforming its artists into major players on the international art scene.

UCR Sweeney Art Gallery hosts the kick-off for CaliFest ‘08 Hip-Hop Theatre Festival. Califest is a celebration of hip-hop culture through theatre, dance, music, poetry, spoken word and art, led by UCR Assistant Professor in the Department of Theater, Rickerby Hinds.
