The Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art at Pepperdine University will present a senior student art exhibition entitled Ransomed from April 10 to 26, 2008.

There will be an opening reception to meet the artists on Thursday, April 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. The reception is free of charge and open to the public.

Ransomed will feature the work of Chelsea Akins, Jaeae An, Anne "Carter" Catchings, Caroline Coffee, April Felchner, Stephanie Griffin, Kristin John, Joseph Mullins, Emily Rath, Briana Scammehorn, William "Lange" Sykes, Kelly Voyles, and John "Matt" Welde, all fine art majors graduating from Pepperdine's Seaver College in April.

The senior exhibition allows graduates from the studio art program to present work highlighting their achievements. In Ransomed, the work ranges in media from painting and sculpture to sculpture installations and projected images.

The exhibition was organized by Genevieve Freeman, faculty advisor and Pepperdine University assistant professor of art, in cooperation with Michael Zakian, director of the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art.

The museum, located on the Pepperdine campus at 24255 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, CA, is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is closed on Mondays and major holidays. There is no admission charge.
