Brooks Shane Salzwedel, "Witch's Broom," 2007, graphite, 24" x 14.5".

To celebrate its first year, Tinlark Gallery in Hollywood announces the opening of a solo show by Brooks Shane Salzwedel at 5pm on Saturday, Janurary 19, 2008.  Also opening 1/19 is  "Time Flies" a group show featuring some favorite artists from our first year and introducing fresh new talents from now and beyond.
"By Fault of its Own" is the gallery's solo show debut of Brooks Shane Salzwedel. A graduate of Art Center College of Design, Salzwedel creates graphite, tape and resin pieces that explore the denaturing of our landscapes. Poetic and ethereal, the intricately composed works draw the eye to the uppermost layer of unspoiled beauty, and then lead us deeper, to the more blighted imagery that lies below.
Running concurrently is "Time Flies," a group show of paintings, mixed media and scluptural pieces.  Participating artists include:
- Ryan Berkley
- Marci Boudreau
- Kelie Bowman
- Maria Britton
- Gavin Bunner
- Diem Chau
- Sarajo Friedan
- Maggy R. Hiltner
- Takashi Iwasaki
- Kirsten Tradowski
- and some magical surprises
