Bert Green Fine Art
presents three solo exhibitions, each of which is the second show by each artist at the gallery. Elizabeth Tobias's series of sonic self-portraits explores the transliteration of the artist's spoken word into real-time wave-forms visualized through oscilloscopic manipulation. Joel Hoyer employs traditional gilding techniques with a contemporary sensibility. This new body of works continues his fascination with Pacific Island culture and geography, incorporating Fijian Masi bark papers with gold, gesso, and linen. Devon Paulson looks at the nature of objectivity through a series of paintings, digitally generated images, sound installations, and performances.

In the Project Windows, Ryan Ross's Numeric Identities is a light based installation that comments on our desire to protect identity or self image at all costs. Vicki Barkley's "Diffusion---Focus" creates a shifting perception of an iconic, artificial light source via mediation with diffusive materials. Devon Paulson uses neon, live sod and interactive sounds to create a feedback loop between the visitor and the artwork.
