Melding her passion for photography with her love of animals, Montrose’s definitive photographic style has made her one of the most sought-after commercial photographers specializing in animals.  She has built a portfolio of groundbreaking imagery for companies such as Pedigree, IAMS, Eukanuba, Purina, Whiskas, Cesar, Sheba, Nestlé, Target and Nikon.  Along with her many commercial projects and award winning ad campaigns, she has produced eight best-selling coffee table and specialty books.  Her first book, Dogtionary (Viking Studio, 2001), firmly positioned her in the ranks of published photographers. For publishers Stewart, Tabori & Chang, her books include Lightweights, Carry-Ons, and the Lightweight Littermates series (Labs, Dachshunds, French Bulldogs, and Poodles).

Inspired by her own mutt, Avery, photographer Sharon Montrose now makes her impression on the Fine Art world with her ninth book, simply titled, MUTTS (Stewart, Tabori & Chang).  She aims to elevate the status of these beloved but under appreciated companions and through a series of 58 portraits, unleashes the intelligence, cockiness, loyalty, energy, good looks, and sheer irresistibility of the mixed-breed dog.  In celebration of MUTTS on SATURDAY, APRIL 21ST, from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m., CISCO HOME (440 North La Brea Avenue, 90036) will host a one-night only event to launch a week-long gallery exhibit featuring a selection of images from the book's 58 canine portraits.  Enlarged to a stunning 36”x 40” size, the larger-than-life portraits capture the honesty and affection of these hounds of varied province.  Along with the photographer, several of the dogs featured in MUTTS will make their event-circuit debut – attending the festivities to mix it up with potential fans.  A portion of the proceeds raised from the sale of photographs will be donated to some of Montrose’s favorite pet rescues.  For more information or to RSVP to the event, please visit or for information on Sharon Montrose Photographs, visit
