Walk-in Virtual Music Box at UCI's Beall Center Lets Visitors See Sound
OP_ERA: SONIC DIMENSION is an immersive *virtual reality* installation designed as a music box. In its United States premier, the Beall Center for Art and Technology at UC Irvine is pleased to present this award-winning interactive art exhibition from Brazil. Entering into the 10’x13’ enclosure, the open cube is filled with hundreds of visually identical violin-like strings. Using Pythagorean principles, OP_ERA lets you embody one of physics’ most complex phenomena.
Admission is free and open to the public. Beall Center hours are noon-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on Saturday; and noon-8 p.m. Friday. For more information, call (949) 824-4339 or visit <http://beallcenter.uci.edu>
