Ione Citrin, “My Cockatoo”, oil on canvas, 20 x 30”.
The West End Art Gallery, Fullerton, CA, is proud to present an exhibition of ione Citrin’s colorful oil paintings and original bronze sculptures. Each piece represents something beautiful she has experienced or dreamt. Fragments of ione’s life and imagination. Surreal oil paintings and bronze sculptures, including landscapes, still life and female figures will draw you into her world and tug at your heart.
Ione loves to bring beauty and pleasure to the world. It is an extension of her passionate soul - to please others. She does it through her creations. To create is as natural and involuntary to her as breathing.
She has been in creative work her entire life, spending 30 years performing on television, stage, radio and runway ramps, acting, modeling, dancing, singing and doing radio/TV commercials in Hollywood and Chicago. Her specialty was “voices”, and she did a huge range of character voices on jingles and commercials. She also was hostess of “The Prize Movie With Ione”, a two hour live morning television show on WLS-TV (ABC) which ran over seven years.
Currently she has stopped performing, and now entertains people through her paintings and sculptures. Her visions and ideas are never ending and easily release themselves upon canvas and into clay. Fortunately, her work brings pleasure to others, and she has found a viable audience for her creative endeavors. She has won many major art awards and currently exhibits in an assortment of galleries and art centers throughout the United States.
